Is Your Beaver Off Limits?!

Are you about to go on holiday but dreading putting that bikini on? Are you sick of shaving your bikini line only for the hair to grow back in a couple of days, complete with red bumps and itchy skin? Do you sprint from the changing room to the swimming pool with your hands placed in strategic positions?  Have you had a bad waxing experience in the past which has scarred you for life?

Bikini waxing really shouldn’t be traumatic in any way. It’s true that the majority of my customers book in for Hollywood or Brazilian waxes  but if you’re a wax virgin, or would just like to be a bit more groomed and less self conscious, a basic bikini wax which removes the hair from outside the knicker line would be perfect for you.

I only use hot, peelable wax for all intimate areas which is much more comfortable than regular strip wax and you could be in and out of your appointment in ten minutes wondering why you hadn’t taken the plunge before. I can even wax teenagers with their parent’s permission.  Take a look at the reviews from my Face Book page below :

“Hands down, the best wax I’ve ever had. Virtually pain free, and fabulous result. Couldn’t recommend higher!”

“Thank you for an expert wax! Highly recommended and an outstanding service”

Are You Tattoo Ready?

Are you about to embark on getting some new ink? If so, I’m sure you’ve taken a lot of time to think about exactly the type of design you’d like including fonts, colours and the body part you’d like to decorate, not to mention the expense. But have you considered getting the area to be tattooed waxed first?

Tattoo artists will shave the area to be inked first as they need it to be as hair free as possible for best results but shaving can result in itchy skin and possibly even a shaving rash after. Newly tattooed skin can be slightly itchy and bumpy while it heals anyway so you ideally want to keep it as clean and hair free as possible for a few days.

Having the area waxed not only leaves it baby smooth and perfectly primed for your treatment but continuing to wax regularly once your skin has healed will show your tattoo off to it’s full potential. I recently had a client in for a chest wax prior to having £5000 worth of ink applied to it over the space of a few weeks. He intended  to grow his hair back until I pointed out that it would cover most of his investment! Now he’s a converted regular waxer. Besides, whether you spend £50 or £5000 on a tattoo, surely it’s worth spending a few pounds extra to have the area waxed first for maximum comfort? Enquire at and I’ll be more than happy to assist you.

Why Wax?

With summer finally here you may begin to wonder if there is a better way to be hair free during the warmer months than having to get the dreaded razor
out on a regular basis.

Waxing is a form of semi permanent hair removal which removes hair from the root.

This allows for smooth, hair free skin for several weeks before the hair begins to grow back.

It’s extremely important that this procedure is carried out by a fully qualified therapist who ‘knows their waxes’!

Strip wax is applied thinly with a spatula then removed quickly with a paper strip. This is what most people recognise as waxing and is a fantastic way to remove hair thoroughly. However, as strip wax also removes the top layer of skin it is best suited to larger areas such as legs, back, chest, shoulders.

Hard, peelable wax, often referred to as ‘hot’ wax, is much thicker in consistency. It is also applied with a spatula but shrink wraps around the hair leaving the skin in tact, thus reducing the ‘ouch’ factor. I absolutely love this wax and use it exclusively for all male and female intimate waxing plus all facial waxing including nostrils and ears.

Not all waxes are created equal! It’s very common to have your waxing carried out using run-of-the-mill salon waxes, such as brown honey wax, as this is what students in beauty schools commonly use when training. There’s nothing wrong with this but the waxing industry has boomed in recent years and now there is a plethora of luxury waxes which have recently hit the market. Whilst more expensive, these luxury waxes contain oils and soothing ingredients to protect the clients’ skin for a more comfortable wax whilst providing superior grip and removal of really short hairs, potentially allowing for more time between waxes for most clients which actually makes the treatment more cost effective in the long run.

So why wax?

  • Skin is smoother, and dare I say Sexier!
  • Tattoos appear more vibrant when hair has been waxed from the area.
  • As for intimate waxing, well, no one wants to look like they’ve got half a pack of Golden Virginia hanging out of their bikini bottoms- hee hee, do they?!

Why Intimate hair removal

Its more hygienic (I’ve not met a single person, male or female, who likes having a hairy bum) and Brazilians and Hollywood’s aren’t just for women! Male grooming is one of the largest growth areas in the beauty industry.

Men from all walks of life are having intimate waxing. Keen gym bunnies, cyclists and sports players experience less chafing, partners often prefer a ‘cleaner’ look and waxed skin feels cooler.

If you’re considering intimate waxing for the first time but don’t want everything removed, don’t worry, pricing is structured to allow you to decide if they want a basic wax or everything off.

Nostrils, ears, lips, cheekbones, underarms to basic bikini also male and female Hollywood’s,

There’s not much that can’t be waxed!
